WOSU Public Media's mission is to enrich lives through content and experiences that engage, inform, and inspire. We celebrate our diverse citizens, embrace innovation, promote lifelong learning, and partner with those who share our passion for public service.
Our strategic priorities are:
A Healthy Democracy Requires Informed Citizens
WOSU will bring depth and context to the news of our world through NPR, PBS, local news/talk programming, and regional public engagement events. We will be a catalyst for conversation through debates and public forums, and provide the only 24-hour public radio news station in central Ohio — 89.7 NPR News.
Lifelong Learning is Vital to All
We will serve our region's lifelong learning needs with educational, informative programs and online resources designed for preschoolers, K-12 students, older Americans, and everyone in between with Ready to Learn and the Next Avenue initiatives.
We believe a thriving arts scene is what makes a great city. WOSU Public Media will grow the audience and the appreciation for the arts by providing unique experiences including local concerts, profiles of local artists, all-day classical music in Columbus, and a robust online arts experience.
